As the Village Voice commented, The Prodigals are "NYC’S jig-punk answer to the Pogues” - Village Voices. The band is led by Gregory Grene, of whom All Music Guide commented, "Grene's expertise on accordion and his understanding of Irish music elevates the group as one of the premier Celtic rock bands leading into the 21st century" backed by a rhythm section that has been acclaimed as "one of the most powerful and pulsating within the genre." They are joined by world champion musicians and dancers on flute and fiddle.
The band has played venues from Madison Square Garden, Webster Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, to the House of Blues in Las Vegas, to Dolan’s Warehouse in Limerick, and has performed at the Guinness Fleadh, Music Midtown Atlanta, and the Dublin Irish Festival. Their music has been used on major film and television scores.
